(Siler City, NC – June 12, 2009) On May 23, under the blue skies of North Carolina, 7 girls made the promenade walk around the lake to the site of their high school graduation. Following in Auldern’s tradition, they were dressed in white, carried yellow lilies and were led in the processional by a bag piper. The seven young women who arrived at Auldern were honored as they crossed the bridge between adolescence and young adulthood as marked by the fulfillment of their dreams of high school graduation.

Auldern proudly continues another important tradition of again having 100% of college acceptance. These seven graduates were accepted by Berry College, Lander University, Franklin Pierce University, Colby Sawyer College, Drew University, Regis University, Casanova University, Central Carolina Community College, Moraine Valley Community College, Saint Xavier University, Southern Illinois University, Ferrum University, Florida Gulf Coast University, St. Leo University, Eckerd University. We are proud to add these to an already extensive list of colleges that Auldern students have been accepted over the past 8 years.

Furthermore, as a group, Auldern graduates also were awarded over $100,000 in scholarship money. We are proud of our students and their accomplishments, wishing them well in the future. We will host our next graduation on August 1, 2009, honoring six more students for their perseverance and achievement.
