Sequel TSI of North Carolina, Inc. prides itself on assuring that only the best professionals are available to aid our residents in achieving their full potential.
Our staff is comprised of professionals who possess a Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree and have extensive field-specific training as well as comprehensive training in the Three Springs' treatment philosophy. Most treatment staff members hold Masters degrees and credentialing appropriate to their positions to ensure that each child achieves his or her goals.
Quality Care
All Sequel TSI' residents have access to highly-qualified consulting psychiatrists, psychologists and RNs. We also work with referring professionals to make sure they remain involved in each child's treatment.
All Direct Care Counselors who work with the children on a daily basis possess Bachelor degrees in a social science field or therapeutic recreation and/or meet qualifying guidelines necessary to fulfill our mission statement and value system.
All Family Service Workers who work with the resident's entire family possess Bachelor degrees in a social science field and are supervised by Masters-level counselors.
Program faculty, or Education Staff, meets all national, state and local requirements for licensing and accreditation. All courses are taught by certified teachers who are specifically trained and experienced in their subject areas. Many of our teachers are also certified as special education teachers and are trained to work with Independent Educational Plans.
Doug Lynch, MBA- Assistant Administrator
Doug has been with Three Springs of North Carolina for fifteen years. During that time he has been a Counselor, Supervisor, Unit Supervisor, and Program Director. His educational background includes business and criminal justice. Doug’s managerial duties include staff supervision, training and on-site operations.
Sandy Upchurch Morrison - Program Director
Ms. Upchurch worked in the counseling department of Three Springs for ten years. She is a designated Qualified Professional in the state of North Carolina. She orginally started as a counselor because she wanted to work directly with kids on an intensive basis. As Program Director, she oversees the therapeutic direction of the program with a special focus in the quality of care delivered at the program.
Tawni Hines, Day Treatment Program Director
Ms. Hines attended East Carolina University and earned a degree in Business Administration in 2000. While at East Carolina, Tawni volunteered her time to working with organizations dedicated to helping youth find a sense of value such as Special Olympics and The Boys and Girls Club. Tawni has worked for Three Springs of North Carolina since May of 2003, pursuing her passion for the outdoors and helping children. Her experience includes two years of work as a counselor for the Boys Program and over four years experience supervising the counseling department.
Simone Griffith, RN - Director of Nursing
Having spent the first half of her life in Missouri, Simone has called North Carolina home for over twenty-five years. With twenty years plus in the medical field Simone has been a Registered Nurse for over 15 years, and joined the Three Springs team fresh out of nursing school. As the Director of Nursing she enjoys teaching and sharing her knowledge with the residents and staff. In her personal life, she enjoys working with the youth in her church and keeping her life grounded by her church involvement.
Ann Scott, MA -Director of Education, Principal
Ann Scott has a Masters in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is a licensed principal. Her undergraduate degree is in English. Ann has been with Three Springs of North Carolina for over 16 years. She taught English for seven years at Three Springs North Carolina Boys’ program and has been the principal for nine.
Before entering the teaching profession, Ann was a Substance Abuse Counselor, and she continues this work on a volunteer basis. She is passionate about teaching and helping those students who perhaps do not learn in the traditional manner. She also enjoys helping the staff to motivate students to learn to their fullest ability.
